JONNY STORM is aiming to live up to his name on the next Bournemouth grappling spectacular.
The high-flying lightweight champion, one of the most exciting talents in European wrestling, plans to whip up a storm with his aerial manoeuvres from the top rope and beyond on the big half-term show at the Bournemouth Pavilion on June 1.
Storm is not known as “The Wonder Kid” for nothing and has gained a reputation as one the grappling game’s biggest thrill-makers on the international stage as far away as Japan and Thailand.
He has also wrestled for top American promotions TNA and Ring of Honour, and a couple of years ago his bout with Mexico’s Ricky Marvin was voted match of the year.
His latest excursion abroad saw him victorious in front of 1,700 fans at a show in Belgium.
Before he gets his passport out again, Storm has the task of taking the sting out of his Bournemouth opponent, “Scorpion” Bill Duffy, a wild character from East London who causes controversy wherever he appears.
The power-packed line-up for the Pavilion extravaganza also features a six-man American-style tag team contest and includes appearances by the 40 stone duo of The Masked Emperor and “The Iron Hulk” Karl Atlas, all-action College Boy Marty Scurll and Britain’s youngest wrestler, 16-year-old Jimmy Meadows, who has been trained by top British star Robbie Brookside.
